Do you need permission to record/photograph in this location? Who will you need to contact?	>Yes we need to talk to Miss Suthakaran who has already agreed to let us use her room	>If she wasn’t in school for us to access the room we would ask another teacher to use their room instead.
Will the levels of noise cause a problem? If so, how will you overcome this?	>We have chosen to shoot this scene after school so there will not be many people around, this will reduce the noise levels.	>If there were any extra sound in the background for the locations, we can edit over them and try to cancel out as much sound as possible.
Is the level of lighting suitable?	>Yes this location has the right lighting needed for our shots.	>For the classroom, if the lighting wasn’t as dark as we needed it to be we can use black card around the window to darken it out more.
If inside, are the Emergency exits clearly visible and available? Is Emergency equipment provided?	hgththhhhh>Yes in this location, there is an easy accessible door to leave in case of emergency	>If the classroom door was somehow locked, there is a technician’s room to exit out of.

Will the levels of noise cause a problem? If so, how will you overcome this?	>Yes	> Try to avoid the corridors being busy during school hours so work in periods where lower years are in lessons or after school hours.
Is the level of lighting suitable?	>Yes	>If we don’t think the natural lighting from the corridor fits the recording, we can bring our own source to brighten it up.
If inside, are the Emergency exits clearly visible and available? Is Emergency equipment provided?	>Yes, there are two main doors to exit from. Hgththhhhh>	>N/A

Dark room	This is the setting used  for main sequence of our preliminary task	Available on site of filming, however will have to check if room availability beforehand.	Ideal time of day is mainly dependant on the weather, as a dull morning may provide a darker light however this time of day may affect the noise levels.
Mac (Computer)	Used for editing and adding all the necessary shots and takes together sufficiently.	Available on site, but will not be available on demand.	Will have to make the most of time available on the Mac's as time may be limited or scheduled.
Camera (Hand-Held)	Used for filming the necessary shots of the preliminary task.	Available upon asking, however there may be a limited battery life so may have to obtain more than one.	We found that one camera will be suitable to gain the necessary shots.
Corridor	Used for the main sequence of the preliminary task. Character 1 walks down corridor.	Available on site of filming, but an appropriate time of day will needed to be found to ensure maximum quality of sound	Suitable time of day is after 2.50pm as the corridor is the most quiet at this time.

This is the storyboard for the interrogation scene we created including shots, location and sound. 

Treatment of preliminary task

Character 1 walks down a corridor wearing a suit, cameras over the shoulder in a tracking long shot. You can only hear the footsteps. He reaches the door and opens it, then shot from the other side at a side view long shot continuing the action of opening and walking through the door. The sound of the door shutting can be heard. The room is dark with a table and two chairs either side. Character 2 is sitting in one chair wearing normal clothes, with the other across from him. A close up reverse shot between the two characters. From the point of view of character 2, character 1 walks towards him from the door. A side view medium shot of character one pulling out a chair opposite character 2. A close up of character 1 from the shoulder down sitting on the chair, switches to a park scene, match on action of sitting down on the bench including outside sounds e.g. birds, wind. 

How does the opening of 'City of God' set the tone, genre and themes of the film through the use of micro elements?

In the opening of 'City of God', the main theme that is represented evidently throughout is violence. This is shown through the micro elements of mise en scene and cinematography as the first scene shows Lil Ze and his gang. They specifically used close up shots as the audience would be able to see their facial features clear enough to identify the fact that these boys are too young to be exposed to a world of pain and cruelty. This suggests from the ages they are presumed by the shots of them, it would be expected for them to still be innocent and vulnerable however in the close up's we see them using guns and knives to chase around a chicken. Therefore this creates the idea that the environment being filmed isn't safe at all, from the cinematography it is shown to be run down which could suggest the reasoning behind boys at such an early age being open to violence. As well as before the chicken chase has even started, there are multiple shots of the other chickens being slaughtered as they are cross cut from the chickens to the drinks being made and the characters are shown to be having a good time. Furthermore, this has been purposely done to juxtapose the visual and sound as the atmosphere is shown to be fun and light hearted however this is contradicted by the fact that the chickens are being killed.
